Course Details
Learn about the potential community impacts of disasters and the primary components involved in community disaster recovery. The purpose and role of a community recovery committee are explored and learners are introduced to a process for the development of an effective plan for community disaster recovery.
The goal of this course is to enable students to participate in a multi-agency recovery planning process by providing an understanding of the components of community disaster recovery and the role of a recovery organization in coordinating recovery activities.
Instructor-Led Online
This online course is structured with weekly deadlines to keep learners on track and engaged in a fast-paced, interactive learning environment. Students are expected to participate actively in discussion boards, collaborate with peers, and complete assignments on a set schedule, ensuring steady progress throughout the course. All course assessments and activities must be completed to successfully pass this course.
In-Class
In a classroom setting, this course is offered over two days. In addition to the scheduled public offerings, this course is available to organizations on a contract basis.
